Grace Covenant Church of       Northwest Columbia            "We Care!"

Pastor Jerry is a person who understands the difficulty of balancing work, family and finances as he answered the call to ministry in his 40’s.  As founding pastor of Grace Covenant his desire was to have a ministry that helps people with the difficulties of day-to-day living from a biblical perspective.

Pastor Jerry is married to Barbara and they have three boys, the oldest son, Leslie, Brad and Michael who still lives at home and attends the University of South Carolina.  Pastor Berry came to know the Lord through his wife to be, Barbara.  Five years later Pastor Berry would feel the call of God on his life to become a minister, and leaving a successful business career in financial industry, he attended Erskine Seminary where received his Master of Divinity in 1995 and was ordained to ministry at Dutch Fork ARP Church in Irmo. 

He served Dutch Fork ARP Church until 2000, when with the help of the church a new church called Grace Covenant was started, meeting at the YMCA on Kennerly Road.  Grace Covenant was founded with a vision of a church that really cares about the needs of its members and the necessity of facing the difficulties of day-to-day living from a biblical perspective.  Grace Covenant would join the Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC) in July 2006; it was the first church for the ECC in South Carolina. 

Pastor Jerry brings the same energy and work ethic to the ministry of the church as he did in the business world, by showing others the witness of living a life to the glory of God at work, in the community and at home.
